Meet Our Students
Paula Ospina Lopez
National Student Representative
Paula is an internationally-trained physical therapist and PhD candidate at the University of Alberta - Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. As a graduate student, she has served as a research assistant and coordinator for studies involving rehabilitation programs for adults with cancer, and participated in the development of a screening tool for clinicians, for the early identification and management of post-mastectomy pain syndrome in women with breast cancer. Her area of research focuses on exploring the benefits of physical rehabilitation for children and adolescents with cancer at risk of developing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. In addition to her research experience, she has clinical expertise in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department´s outpatient and inpatient wards at the Cross Cancer Institute. She currently serves as a National Student Representative and Social Media Liaison for the Oncology Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
